MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new and returning students to Illing Middle School! As the Principal, I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you in hopes of supporting your academic and social development.  This school year promises to be both exciting and rewarding as we work together with you and your families in support of your success.  In addition to working together, the administrative team and faculty have established high expectations for all students to strive to reach their potential.

Throughout this year we will be involving you in helping to continue our efforts towards redefining who and what we are all about as a middle school community.  We will continue our efforts to establish an identity that we can all be proud of as we endeavor to become the best middle school in the state of Connecticut.  To accomplish this, your commitment to the high expectations set by your parents, teachers and school leaders is needed.  As you work throughout the year, you can expect to be challenged by the faculty and staff to be the best that you can be. There will be many opportunities for you to demonstrate growth and maturity as you take the steps needed to make positive choices that will guide your school experience.

It is our goal to see that all of you become successful and it is your responsibility to work hard towards achieving your success.

I look forward to being your Principal, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you throughout this school year!

FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS’ CORNER

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome back!  We hope you had a restful and relaxing vacation.  We also hope that you were able to spend some quality time with family and friends.  As we enter January, we are reminded that with a new year we are revitalized.  Please keep this in mind when talking with your child and let them know that if they need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact a staff member.  In addition, we would like to remind our Illing family of the following:

  • January 15th progress notes will be due.
  • Homework club occurs regularly on your child’s team.  Please talk with your child’s team to inquire about the days and times.
  • Please remind your child that jackets, hats, etc. should be placed in their locker during the school day.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s administrator listed below.  Thank you and we hope to see you at Illing.
