Physical Education News!

J Welcome back to school! J

September and October are busy months in P.E.!

All students will be practicing for the state fitness tests.

These four tests include:

-sit and reach (flexibility)-curl-ups (muscular endurance)

-push-ups (muscular strength) –pacer test (aerobic endurance)

Please be sure to have registered any medication, such as epi-pens or asthma pumps with the school nurse ASAP for safety.

Dress code for P.E:

Students MUST have tied sneakers with backs, shorts, wind pants, or sweatpants & crew neck T-shirts ONLY. They must be appropriate for school and activity. The students can participate with jeans, but will lose 4 pts./day! Be sure to wear or bring appropriate clothes and sneakers to move and run in. Dress for playing outside & dress for the weather (sweatshirt on cool days).

Grading in Physical Education:

Students earn 15 points each day. 5 are for changing into or wearing PE clothes and sneakers. The other 10 are for active participation, individual effort, exhibiting positive behaviors, sportsmanship, and following directions promptly. Minimal participation will result in point loss.

Schedule:

All students at Illing either have P.E. on a 1 or 2 Day schedule. Therefore, they have class every other day. WE will NOT skip days on days we are not in school (snow, holidays, etc.) We always pick up where we left off. REMEMBER YOUR PHYSICAL EDUCATION DAY!!!
